The National Media Awards Foundation revealed the winners of the 2022 Digital Publishing Awards via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and e-newsletter on May 31, 2022. Gold winners in creator-focused categories received a $500 cash prize, in addition to their award.

Highlights
- This year’s top winner is Radio-Canada, with an impressive 12 awards in various categories — including seven Gold and five Silver awards.
- The Globe and Mail receives five awards in total — four Silver, plus Gold in Innovation in Digital Storytelling for “The Void in Calgary” by Jeremy Agius.
- Toronto Star‘s “The Last Orca” is a Gold winner in Best Digital Editorial Package and Best Digital Design.
- The Local is a two-time Gold winner, in the prestigious General Excellence in Digital Publishing (Small Division) and for Best News Coverage (Community Publication) for “Vaccinating Toronto.”
- The Narwhal received both the silver and gold awards in Best Photo Storytelling for “‘We watch everything’: Dene Elders guide effort to save vanishing Arctic caribou” and “In photos: a view of RCMP arrests of media, Indigenous land defenders on Wet’suwet’en territory.”
- Eugénie Emond wins gold in Best Arts & Culture Storytelling for the second year in a row, this year for “Le salon de Plaquie.”
- Amber Bracken brings home gold this year in Best Photo Storytelling for “In photos: a view of RCMP arrests of media, Indigenous land defenders on Wet’suwet’en territory.” Last year, she and The Narwhal won a gold award in Best Digital Editorial Package.
