Best Long Feature, Top 5 Finalists

We hope that you’ve had a chance to review this year’s Short Feature nominees, because today we present the finalists for its counterpart— Best Long Feature.

This year the jury has chosen five finalists for the Best Feature Article: Long. The award will honour the best long feature story (minimum 2,000 words) in terms of the overall quality of writing, including but not limited to reporting, criticism, reviews and other non-fiction genres.

The nominated pieces include two from west coast online magazine Hakai, as well as a story of the unlikely revolutionaries of the Syrian War, an investigation into Canada’s work with unmanned aerial vehicles in Afghanistan, and a tour of Canada’s small town Chinese restaurants.
